Story Ideas Assignment
For this assignment, your group is to put together a main story and a sidebar story, as discussed in class. If your name below is followed with (R), you are the reporter for this assignment. If your name is followed with (E), you are the editor. You will switch roles and group partners in future assignments.
The story and sidebar will require a minimum of four interviews and 1000 total words across the two pieces. The main story should be longer and more general, and the sidebar shorter and more specific.
The reporter and editor should work together on coming up with the main points of the story, contacting interviewees and going over interview material. The reporter will need to complete the first draft in time for the editor to make appropriate suggestions for edits and the final draft to be written.
The story is due a week from today, April 21, at the start of class. Please email it to me as a Word document.
